[edit] To-Do List

Here is a list of things that need doing on the sjbikeparty.org website:

Pay attention mainly to BOLD items that can use volunteer assistance immediately.

[edit] Urgent Tasks

  • Back up site database

[edit] Major Projects

[edit] Calendar module w/ multiple levels and full integration

  • public events calendar
  • Hub task deadlines calendar
  • custom essays

[edit] Events module w/ good access control

[edit] Desired features

  • monthly ride events w/ signup process & waivers
  • test ride events

[edit] Possible solutions

[edit] Task management system

A volunteer sign-up system similar to a ticket tracker? Find a wordpress module (or combination of modules) that will give us:

  • the ability to make sign-up lists for tasks
  • varying degrees of access and publicity
  • ability to easily see
  1. what needs doing,
  2. who's doing what,
  3. what already got done...ideally in as simple a way as possible.
  • Adding deadlines to this,
  • integrated with the calendar in some fashion, would be a truly unnecessary bonus feature.

We would use it for:

  • BIRD tasks for during ride
  • Volunteer tasks during month
  • Hub tasks

Some possible solutions:

[edit] Solicit and post more images

See Promotional images project.

[edit] Longer-term Wish List

  • automate backups
  • beautiful 3-column layout
  • well-integrated forums - should we keep our existing forum module (if so, it needs fixing so the formatting, etc. works right) or use a different one? is there a better/more creative way to direct traffic towards the forums, perhaps less to the page comments?
  • sync'ed user accounts between all online services:
  • a wordpress frontend/UI for managing mailman e-mail list subscriptions, etc.
